It's 2007 So...

Why is someone proposing to:
a. build a major steel and glass arena over a major transportation hub and flightpath with no security study or terrorism study?
b. raze historic buildings when its known that adaptive reuse creates wonderful neighborhoods and centrally planned mass projects are nearly always failures.
c. vastly increase auto traffic and encourage more car use by building parking lots instead of alternate transportation.
d. demap city streets and build 'superblocks' when its known this superblocks are urban planning failures.
e. hire an impractical architect who has a track record of wasteful and frivolous use of resources when its known that construction has major negative impacts the environment?

Hey I like retro parties too but this is a little much.
